An unexpected end to a big journey. Goodbye...

Unfortunately my grandfather passed away while I was in Thailand on my very last day.
Do recite the Al-Fatehah for him.
I will try and update this posting in the future when I can spare the time.

Arrival
My very first day. Arrived Krabi Airport at 18.00 and went straight to Ao Nang to get a room. The first room I got was a very nice decent bungalow. Amazingly it was only 650 baht/night. I thought it was expensive but it turned out to be a steal. This room is the most decent one in my whole stay in Thailand.

So on my first day, I went off in search of dinner. That was rather tough. A place with many muslim locals but succumbed to tourism. There were reliable places to dine but somehow, they either had a 'ham' in their menu or liquor. Well I have to eat anyhow. So on the first day, I went to a place without a pork in their menu and had my dinner there. I assumed that the locals there do not understand that 'ham' implies porcine in nature, so I went to places with ham in their menu plus any other indications of it being a Muslim dining place.

And of course, after every dinner, every night in Ao Nang, I would indulge in the banana pancake in the picture above. It's like banana prata. None of the ones that I bought disappointed me. They all tasted good.

The pic on the right I took while on my first ride on a tuk-tuk.

Tickets bought

Well, I have bought my tickets. Now to do a bit of planning. This blog is a good start i guess. Something to help me remember the trip. Tomorrow, I will have to continue with my preparations. Last minute to-do's before I leave for Thailand. Don't worry, I will not turn this blog into my to-do list.

Ok I shall make my exit for now...
